TCCS Back to School Notes for the 2017-2018 School Year

Hello TCCS Parents and Guardians...

I hope you are all having a great summer.  September is quickly approaching and the school's 20th year of operation is right around the corner!  With this in mind, I wanted to share some important reminders and some new information pertaining to the upcoming 2017-2018 school year.

SCHOOL CALENDAR:  Please take a moment to review the school calendar with A-F letter days for the coming year, which is available online at  Our first day of classes will be Tuesday, September 5.  A digital calendar of events is also available on the school website ( and is constantly updated.

PARENT PORTAL:  In the coming days, you will be receiving a letter in the mail containing your login information for the TCCS parent portal, where all parents will be able to view student information (schedules, homeroom assignments, etc.) for the coming year.  In addition, parents must update their contact information and answer the annual required "Parent Questions".  Information for the 2017-2018 school year will not be available in the parent portal until Monday, August 21.  

LUNCH ORDERS:  Lunch service will not begin until mid-September.  Lunch orders and payment will once again be completed online.  Details and instructions for ordering and paying will be shared once the abbreviated September lunch menu is ready.  Please note:  If you meet the requirements for the Free or Reduced Priced lunch program, you MUST complete the required application (even if you have already qualified in the past) before you are able to order and receive lunch.  This year, the application will be provided online.  Details for applying will be provided in the coming weeks.

AFTER SCHOOL AND BEFORE CARE PROGRAMS:  Please note that online registration for our After School and Before Care programs is now open on the TCCS website.  If you are interested in enrolling in either of these programs (or would like more information), please use the links that are provided.  All interested families must register for the programs, even if they only plan on using them for Drop-In dates. Both programs will begin on the SECOND day of school (Wednesday, September 6), so please register as soon as possible, to ensure appropriate staffing.  We will also be accepting online payments for these programs.  Payment will not be due until instructions for online payment are provided.

BUS SERVICE:  If you qualify for bussing, you will be receiving a notification from the Teaneck Board of Education.  Please note: The school does not oversee the AM and PM student transportation program.  Any questions should be directed to the Teaneck Board of Education's Transportation Department.

PARCC SCORES:  The state has advised that the school will receive paper copies of individual student score reports by next week.  As soon as we receive them, we will be mailing them to your homes.

SUMMER READING:  All students entering grades 1-8 must read over the summer and complete the assignments that are posted on the TCCS website.  Please visit for complete details.
