The January 18 Applebee's fundraiser was AWESOME!  The restaurant was packed and the basketball players and their parents were working hard the full two hours!

Here's a little recap for you:

As the parents and players first arrived at 7:15am they were ALL still a little tired from playing and cheering at Friday's games, but once the restaurant started to fill-up, "the team"  went to work!

The players were taking orders and setting-up silverware... here's your section... put on a smile... take a drink order.. and let's go to work!... Jean Kupfer and Kim Capers were yelling for food orders at the expo line... No Sausage... we need syrup ... watch that plate its hot........ Jenine Kea and Lorna Gooden were brewing that delicious coffee..... keep going.... regular.... no..no ...decaf.... Suzette Williams and Danielle Rowe-Jackson were letting the milk and orange juice flow.... where are the straws?.... creamers anybody?... get it and go..go..go....go... Kathy Wicklund and Donna Johnson were greeting guests and collecting money..$10 please... checks?? yes.. make them out to TCCS.... Coach Keni Ashby was seating families strategically throughout the restaurant... .come on follow me... your waiter/waitress will be right with you.... as the food slowly started to come out the food runners jumped in.... Doug Kupfer, Kim Newsome follow these kids, Jean yelled..... here Elizette Estrella, Andrea Caviness bring these to the table of 6 asked Kim....... as the chaos begun in the back.... here comes Gina Gerszberg and Mrs. Karen with the 50/50's in the front of the restaurant.... come on.. got to be in it to win it they pitched... there's Mr. Bonney... greet those tables... get that juice..... how much are those pajama pants?...the ticket line was packed with food orders.... come on kids... come back in five minutes... fill those coffee cups.... clear those tables.... the food will be right out.. no worries,... just a little backed-up.. in the end the big 50/50 raffle.... the winner is.... Lisa Lurie!..... and yes.... it was her birthday yesterday... congrats!...... uh oh, it's 9:55am.... last call.... players... cash in your tickets and eat quickly... we have cleaning to do..... COACH....can you believe it? I got a tip?..... what do I do with it?. .... put it in your pocket!! .... get back to work :) .... where are the rags? ..... who can vacuum? ... Coach do we have to fold silverware????? ..... is it 10am yet???

In the end, we all had a great time and the players (and parents) learned and experienced what it takes to be a restaurant employee. Behind the scenes was chaotic at times, but we all left smiling and standing! Although we know some tables experienced a long wait, we thank you all for your patience and smiles.

In two short hours, I am happy to announce we raised $2,457.00 for the Tornadoes Basketball program!

Thank you for your hard work, support and patience. The Applebee's event was a perfect example of what TCCS is all about - a community of kids, parents, faculty and families that come together, work hard, learn hands-on, succeed, and have one heck of a good time doing it!

GO TORNADOES!!!!
